CSEC-LC SCHOLARSHIP

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Emilio J. Valdespino Jr. Memorial Scholarship fund was established by CSEC-LC in 2001. Each year the scholarship committee selects a member and a member's child to receive this award. Two years ago, the CSEC-LC Executive Board voted to honor Irma Valdespino's late husband by naming this scholarship after him. He supported Irma and the union in their efforts to advocate for Classified Staff. The money used to start this scholarship fund came from a monetary award given to Irma Valdespino in 2001 when she was named National Education Association Education Support Professional of the Year.

The scholarships are available for CSEC-LC members and their children. The scholarship committee will begin accepting applications in NOW.  Please submit your applications by the deadline of April 23.  The scholarship winners will be notified on April 30, 2010.
